Meet the Cast

Andre Vegas

Andre Vegas is New Zealand's premier Illusionist, known nationally and Internationally through his numerous TV appearances, national tours, charity and fundraising events, corporate and family shows. A seasoned performer across all magic genres from closeup to large scale illusions, Andre is also a highly talented artist, designer, and builder of magic apparatus. Putting the ‘grand’ into the International Grand Magic Show, Andre wears many magical hats as performer, Artistic Director and Co-Producer, the driving force behind this magical extravaganza. Show highlights will include everything from Andre’s classic dove act, through to dividing a woman into 9 pieces, The Table of Death and spectacular motorcycle illusions.
Featured throughout the show are Katharina Blau and Natasha Hine who bring glamour and mystique, performing as principal assistants with Andre.

Jean Philippe Janin
 

Jean Philippe Janin (JP) studied at the French Circus School (OSE Clown) for four years of intensive training in various circus arts disciplines. He worked as a Clown  Doctor (France and Italy) in the Children's Oncology & Serious Burns unit for two years. 

He later developed 'The Caterpillar' Circus School in France for children and teenagers. JP has toured his unique clown character from 1997 where he has performed in various cabarets and circuses worldwide. 

As a professional flying trapeze artist, clown, juggler, unicyclist, acrobat, balloon twister, magician and musician, JP takes an interest in all aspects of professional creativity. Bringing his unique French flavour to the show, JP blends comedy, magic and Buugeng manipulation.

Felicity Rogers
 

Felicity Rogers is a talented award-winning surreal conceptual artist, magician, and dancer. Having spent years dedicated to deep diving within an array of artistic genres, she now merges her knowledge and expertise into one big melting pot of creative expression. Conceptualising, designing, constructing, and performing her original magic creations, she defies traditional labels, seeking innovation and inspiration.

Currently New Zealand’s only professional female magician, Felicity uses this unique platform to promote herself as a strong female role model. Bringing beauty, grace and wonder to her performance art she works to uplift and celebrate the power of divine femininity.

Jia Liu
 

Jia Liu performs as ‘Mr. How’, also known as ‘The Alchemist’. He is the esteemed founder of ‘Oriental Wonders’. 

Passionate about cultural exchange, Mr. How brings magic from the Orient to the show. Jia is the founder and owner of ‘Magic Moments New Zealand’ the production company for the International Grand Magic Show. Along with his dinner theatre complex at the Law Courts Hotel in Dunedin, he is bringing live magic entertainment to New Zealand audiences.

Reggie Gavel
 

As an Artistic Director, Producer, and Pianist, Reggie Gavel has worked throughout New Zealand on many creative projects including plays, musical theatre, opera, magic, and variety. Encouraged to study classical piano and drama from a young age, he started performing in theatre, making his professional debut in a production of Hamlet. This soon led to taking a sidestep into directing and producing theatre. Now predominantly working on promoting live entertainment, Reggie is an integral part of the International Grand Magic Show as Co-Producer. 

You will see him grace the stage and glue the show together as Master of Ceremonies, while also working behind the scenes as Show and Tour Manager.
